SBS 2003 media

Error message when you try to reinstall a component in Windows Small Business Server 2003 with SP1: “The drive contains a disc for Windows Small Business Server 2003 with no service packs”:

One of the advantages to software assurance is you get media coming out of your ears… while I don’t have the SBS 2003 R2 with integrated sp2…yet.. I fully anticipate that will be arriving any day now…bringing me up to a total of ..either 5 or 6 media sets I have now.

If you aren’t in the position to have media coming out of your ears… try that instead.

Technet + is good for this as well. Plus, you can get a free (OK, OK, my grandfather is telling me TANSTAAFL…) subscription for two submissions of the assessments.

As for legality of using the media, I may be wrong, but you are using the media with their license, and you’re not crossing the line between using the Technet licenses for production purposes. You are merely using the media.

I am willing to stand corrected on this.
