There are times WSUS is annoying

There are times that WSUS is just downright annoying.

And yes to Kevin, that’s exactly what happened to me.  In my case I got it to shut up by shutting off automatic update service, dumping the software distribution folder and then turning the update service back on.

And how many “few minutes” did they benchmark that clean up tool with?  It ran for several hours on my system.

    I’ve never had the tool take more than 5 minutes even on a badly taxed server. Maybe it’s from having to many packages checked off as I only allow what I use, no drivers, no extra junk.

    Just the Critical and Security please. I’ll manually handle the rest considering the issues with updtes of late.
