Losing the love

Wow how the mighty have fallen.  One of our younger employees today came in and said “Google’s gotten really bad, I can’t find anything”.  Mind you this is from the Firefox, iPhone 4, gotta get the iPad 2 age demographic that said this.

When the youngsters start losing the love for all things Google… wow.

Then we’re screwed because every other search engine ( I think ) is worse than Google.

  2. Well I’m 60 and I totally agree with this demographic’s comment. I used to use Google exclusively since I always found what I wanted. Now I’m becoming frustrated in my searches and broadening my search cloud.

….and yet I have ALWAYS been able to find what I was looking for. People should learn how to use Boolean search syntax. I still use quotes for string search, AND’s and NOT’s and such.

Of course, I have no use for a search toolbar or browser search box either because I’ve been using the ? syntax in the address bar ever since it was invented in IE3. I laugh when I see them advertise the “omni bar” or “awesome bar”. It was “awesome” years ago, but they market it like it’s something new.
