My first feedback for Windows 8 has nothing to do with the OS and everything to do with the remote viewing of the Build conference.  I am currently on my way to Portland for the stops and prior to that I was in a hotel in Palm Springs.  So I’m on a slow hotel connection or a 5 gig capped mifi or a slower aircard with an unlimited cap.

So if I watch it on the site I get a LOT of buffering buffering.  If I want to download it for the plane right to watch the smallest file is a 2 gig TWO GIG download!

I mean come on 2 gigs?  For a two hour keynote video?  We’re not talking high def Lady Gaga video people.  How about tuning down that to a more reasonably sized download.

Okay so it’s 1.95 gig to be exact but come on Steven… I tried downloading it last night and at midnight my hotel connection timed out and wanted the room credentials again.  It timed out at 72% of a download.

There’s no way I can download it before I get on the plane to San Francisco/Portland.

How about a metro tablet sized download of the video to start with so I can watch it on a space limited/bandwidth challenged device?

    !!You GO Girl!!

I hope you enjoy the tour stop. 🙂

  2. Add to that, the videos that have coding sessions in them, the resolution is insufficient to read the code. 😐

i already use a windows 7 phone and i am not happy with this phone ! all apps are expensive and in contrast with the iphone not extensive. windows 8 is in the look & feel not really self explanatory. if microsoft would like to go the same way as windows 7 phone, windows 8 will be a desaster for mircrosoft.
