Excel hotfix for October

Description of the Excel 2010 hotfix package (x32 Excel-x-none.msp, x64 Excel-x-none.msp, Graph-x-none.msp): October 28, 2011:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2596554

These two caught my eye:

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You create a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) session to connect to a computer that has Windows Server 2003 64-bit edition installed.
    • You start Excel 2010 though the RDP session, and then you try to paste text into a workbook.
In this scenario, Excel 2010 crashes.

  • The performance of Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) code is significantly slower in Excel 2010 compared to Office Excel 2003.
  • One Thought on “Excel hotfix for October

    1. Any jump from one version of excel to another can be frusterating at times. If your reciving error messages with text in the work books look at downloading a vba converter and see if that helps performance with VBA in excel.
