11 Thoughts on “Update rollup for SBS 2008 and SBS 2011

  1. I had a server that was having a weird glitch with the BPA and this seemed to fix it without any other obvious errors coming up.

Should KB2734608 be installed before the Update Rollup 3 for SBS2011, or does it not matter which update is installed first? And should the SBS2011 server be rebooted between installing these updates, or can you just install them one after the other then reboot the server at the end? Thanks.

  3. That wsus one can be tricky. I’d do them one at a time and reboot in between to be safe.

Great, thanks for the immediate feedback. Would you have a preference as to which update you would do first. I guess KB2734608 was released first so that is probably the one to start off with? Cheers.

  5. IMO that’s not quite as critical as to order of updates. Just make sure you run the WSUS cleanup routine if you haven’t done it in a while first.

after installing rollup 6 for SBS2008, http://connect still does not work, the error is 404, File Not Found

  7. What do you mean by still does not work? It didn’t work before?
    And did you reboot?

It worked with win 7, did not work with win 8, I was waiting for the rollup, applied the rollup and restarted the server, I get the web page but when I click for it to connect the machine I get error 404

Thanks for the quick response, what I meant was workes with win 7, the website comes up but when the ‘start computer program’ is clicked on the error 404 is displayed in the browser. Yes, the server was restarted.

I hope I have not posted this twice, I was still trying to find my way around win 8 and ie10

  10. It’s not working when you are on Windows 8?

Can you pop me an email at susan-at-msmvps.com as doing this back and forth on the blog slows me down :-)

  11. P.S. are you using the true IE browser or the Metro browser? As you have to use the full IE, not the metro one.
