Hmmm, whilst it allows you to install WSUS on WS2012E, it doesn’t create the necessary GPOs as per SBS – or am I doing something wrong?

I didn’t say it installed the “SBS ” version of WSUS. It lets you install WSUS. Period. We have to do the rest manually.

I know that. The point I was making is that for an SBS replacement product you would think it would install the GPOs as well, especially seeing as there is are “SBS Group Policy Folder Redirection” and “SBS Group Policy Security Templates” GPOs already in WS2012E.

Thanks for the heads up anyway, and for an interesting and informative blog.

  4. As part of the smbkitchen project we’ll be doing step by steps for the same setup as well as better WSUS setups.
