Last chance to buy Technet Plus – this time on a VL contract

In just a few days, the window will close on the ability to purchase TechNet subscriptions.  From then on a retail purchase it will be good for a year.  As a partner your TechNet subscription will expire and not be renewed.

But if you purchase TechNet over a three year volume license spread payments contract you can lock in TechNet subscriptions for the next three years.

The trick is to buy one item of TechNet plus direct subscriptions and four of the cheapest thing in the product listing, either 4 Forefront cals, or 4 of

66J-05385 Microsoft® Win Pro DVD Playback Sngl OPEN 1 License No Level WinVistaBsnss  $6.60 (reseller buy (ex) and $9.09 RRP (ex)

With that you can get a 3 year version of TechNet under a VL contract.

But you only have a very few days until 8/31 to do this.

It’s not looking good that Microsoft will budge on the TechNet subscriptions.  I think this is a stupid move on their part.  But they aren’t listening much to me these days.

Susan can you post the SKU to use?

Won’t Action Pack continue to have most of what us small partners need though? Like the Windows client and server OS products? SQL, Exchange, SharePoint, and Office too?

Does it have older versions? No. Does it have the full listing of software? No. Action pack is a subset and also is meant to run your business on. This is a testing platform for all of MS software.
Many of the server OS products are limited in Action pack.

Thanks for the SKU you used. In Australia no one seems to be selling JT9-00045.

    The two SKU’s that seem closest that are available for sale are;

Q99-00005 TECHNET PLUS SINGLE USER WIN32 ALL LANGUAGES LICENSE/SOFTWARE ASSURANCE NL QUALIFIED

    and

JT9-00010 MS TECHNET PLUS DIRECT ALL LANGUAGES LICENSE+SOFTWARE ASSURAANCE OLP NL QUALIFIED

Are you able to give some more help?

    JT9-00010 sounds like the equivalent.

    How’s Life?

Did I miss the USA SKU Jared asked for?

Is it the JT9-00045 he references?

CDW cancelled my order said Microsoft came back and said 2014 it’s dead, can’t buy this beyond 2014 via JT9-00045, rather advised to buy boxed version which is good for only one year.
