SMBKitchen: HyperV resources

Some resources for the basics of getting started with HyperV include a few wiki’s and a couple of blog posts:

The EXPTA {blog}: UPDATED Blistering Fast Hyper-V 2012 Server – Parts
List and Video!:

The EXPTA {blog}: 4th Generation Hyper-V 2012 R2 Server for Around
$1,200 USD – Parts List and Video!:

For budget minded folks, consider using the native windows backup rather than purchasing a third party backup software.  I’d recommend that you do a backup from within each server rather than backing up from the parent.  In my personal experience backing up from the parent can (and usually does) cause issues.

Set up the usb drive on the host, and use USB pass through and build a SCSI vhd (or vhdx) drive and then use it as a backup target.
