For budget minded folks, consider using the native windows backup rather than purchasing a third party backup software.  I’d recommend that you do a backup from within each server rather than backing up from the parent.  In my personal experience backing up from the parent can (and usually does) cause issues.

Set up the usb drive on the host, and use USB pass through and build a SCSI vhd (or vhdx) drive and then use it as a backup target.
