Silverlight 2 is out – cross platform .Net development with a bang!

October 14th 2008 in 4499

The much awaited version 2 of Silverlight (eg. Silverlight 2 – hehehe) has just been released.

The announcement came approximately 4 hrs ago.

A lot of new goodies have also been released, such as the Expression 2 SP1, Silverlight Tools for Visual Studio 2008 SP1 and the Deep Zoom Composer.

Yay for all the goodness! Lets hope this release is a bigger success than .Net 3.5 SP1 :)

Oh, and naturally there’s the Microsoft Silverlight 2 SDK – and finally, who could have missed out on this – www.silverlight.net

Another nice little link is from Scott Barnes – and his fireworks animation in silverlight – www.spidaweb.com.

A lot of goodness… and a lot of pain! I spent the entire day yesterday ‘fixing’ a project (that wasn’t broken) because I upgraded it to RC0 of Silverlight.

If you are upgrading from Beta 2, be prepared for a world of pain and hitting your head against a wall…
