Finally! Microsoft has just released a standalone version of the device emulator (smartphone and pocketpc). Before this, if you wanted to play around with mobile devices without actually buying them, you had to install Visual Studio and a bunch of other stuff, although there was a more “light” workaround (Standalone Emulator). Well, but now we have the official standalone version and it comes with the latest Windows Mobile 5.0 with Messaging and Security Feature Pack (MSFP), which means we have access to Exchange 2003 SP2 functionalities: DirectPush and Remote Wipe.
