Here is my initial case on behalf of partners:
Hello SBS team,
As an advocate for the partner community I would like to point out a silly mistake in the partner benefits and elaborate a case for change.
Keeping this short, it is better if partners install on SBS since it gets them up and running with a pile of MS technologies all at once in a best practices based configuration.
Partners get 25 CALS for all core products except for SBS which they get 10. I suggest you change this to 25.
You as a team should want partners installing SBS for their internal use. As for Microsoft, the easier it is to get partners using all of the technologies in SBS the better it is for talking about those technologies with clients.
A number of SBS MVPs supported the push notably Philip Elder and Andy Trish. Michael Leworthy from Microsoft was the internal advocate. In response to further details on the availability of the new CALs, Michael stated it should happen fairly quick. I want to thank Microsoft for reacting quickly to this need for choice in the partner community.
