Last week Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and Cisco Systems Chairman and CEO John Chambers met to discuss the future of technology and their visions.
You can view the Webcast and read the transcript from http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/presskits/MSFTCisco/default.mspx

Seeing these two giants play together amicably is awesome.
I was asked to post this so here goes…
The OCS/Speech Server beta forums have moved and are now located at
http://forums.microsoft.com/ocs2007/default.aspx?siteid=57. All of the original beta content is still there for your reading enjoyment.
If all goes well they will be moving again on September 4th to a another new site. The content will be the same but with some new topics around devices. When that happens I’ll post the new address.
It’s that time of the year again – the Jacksonville Code Camp will be held this Saturday. These code camps are a great opportunity to meet other developers and learn about new technology. There are nine separate tracks and over over 50 different sessions. We have 16 Microsoft MVPs speaking along with other speakers from around the state of Florida.
I’ll be presenting the “Developing Speech Applications with OCS 2007 Speech Server” presentation that I gave at Tech-Ed 2007. So come on out and see waht the new face of Speech Server development looks like.
You can register here but hurry up as these events tend to fill up quickly.
Terry Gold has this to say concerning what Ford is doing with speech – http://www.terrygold.com/t/2007/08/ford-announces-.html
You can also read about it at Zune-Online or on Ford’s Sync site
While you are reading Terry’s blog maybe you can help him find his Mustang.
The public beta for OCS is over and it has now gone RTM (as others have posted).
But don’t fret, Microsoft has released fully functional but time limited trial editions of the Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 and Microsoft Office Communicator 2007.
The downloads (which require registration) are available here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/bb684921.aspx
If you are just after the released Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 Speech Server then you can use this link – http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=BB183640-4B8F-4828-80C9-E83C3B2E7A2C&displaylang=en
This edition is not time limited, and is fully functional. Yet the use rights are limiting you to developer and test deployments only.
Enjoy these trials.
