It is essentially a cheap multi-function device which can print, copy, scan, fax and be used across the Internet General retail price in Canada is $109.00 not including taxes.
Criticisms in reviews were few, mainly :
Difficult to set up.. Quite honestly, I found it quite easy to do, easier than some printers that I have had to set up for clients. The front panel is the older button type but it is all clear enough. There is a 1.8” colour LCD panel which shows where you are, and it is easily read..
Small capacity paper tray (100 sheets).. This works for me. I only put in maybe 20 sheets at a time because I am not into huge amounts of printing. As many users find over time, paper stacks tend to compress and the printer will end up dragging more than one sheet through, so why load more than 100 sheets if total output for the month may be less than 10 sheets.
Photo printing is adequate. I don’t do photo printing, and here’s why..
- Photos are bad unless printed on special photo paper
- Special photo paper requires copious amounts of ink
- Ink does not have the lasting properties of colour toner, although it is better than it used to be
The photo machines you often see in grocery store customer service areas are so much better and cheaper overall.
I have to be careful as to what I say here. It is a budget multi function printer which has a multi sheet feeder for copying and faxing, and it is a wireless device too. Even at $109.00, it is good value, but I bought it for $60.00. So basically, I have no issues with it at al. For the money, I think that it is an excellent device. Everything works and it appears to be built quite well
There is no memory card slot, no second paper tray, no separate envelope feeder, and no Ethernet connection. For these features, you pay $200 or more and you get a multi-function device the size of a house. No thanks..
