Configuration:

- Running SBS2003 with ISA

- Port Forwarding on: 25, 443, 444, 4125, 1723, 3389

- Remote Desktop enabled on Computers that use VPN

Problem:

Users out of office use “Connect to Small Business Network”

succesfully.  They can RDP to the server.  But server cannot RDP to computer using VPN.  Tried Computer name and IP (Found in Small Business Connection Status).  Is there anyway to fix this.  Besides using GoToMyPC or WebEx???

Did you try the following format:

computername.domainname.local

BTW, if you are using RWW those desktops (Windows XP Pro) should show up in the list of client computers. That is a lot easier then using VPN.

Yes i tried the FQDN.  Didn’t work.  And yes they do show up on the RWW.  But its not the LAN computers i want to connect to… I need to connect to mobile workers from the LAN… Sorry if i wasn’t clear.

I think the solution may be in DNS or the way DHCP hands out addresses to Remote Access Clients.

Hi Adrian,

Do these remote clients have File and Printersharing enabled on the VPN connection?

Hi Adrian,

You can only RDP to a workstation if you can see it. Create a new VPN connection if you can’t change the SBS one.
