Hi,

1. In which file do I find/change the watermark text in the QuickLaunch area? E.g., from “Sharepoint Portal Server” to “MyCompanyName?”

2. Which Onet.xml file is used by my portal site (the one and only, vanilla portal I created right after installing)? Is it the onet.xml stored in ….\template\1033\sps\xml? …\template\1033\sts\xml?

3. I created a new site in my portal (called Partners)–which files do I edit to:

a) Remove the link to “Pictures” from the quick launch nav area

b) Edit/reformat the links in the banner area up top (“Home” “Documents and Lists”, etc.)

Thanks!

Andy

1. sps.css…look for navwatermark class

2. sts

3. go to the pictures library – modify settings and columns – change settings – take tick out of display in quick launch.

b) again ows.css – see this link

Thanks Dave, sorry to be such a spaz, but:

1. I don’t want to change the color or rotation of the watermark text in the QuickLaunch bar, I want to change what the text reads. By defult, on our top-level portal site it reads “Sharepoint Portal Server,” and on a sub-site of the portal it reads “QuickLaunch.” What if I want the text to read “MyCompany, Inc.”

2. thanks

3. There are no Picture libraries yet. The QuickLaunch menu has links to (from top to bottom): Documents, Pictures, Lists, Discussions, Surveys. I want to remove the “Pictures” link, which takes me to the list of Picture lists page.

its ok andy…it can be horrid

1. open in front page and find the image name. Recreate your own making sure the size is the same as the original

3. delete the links (or the whole thing) with front page
