Here are some resources:

Most people create Themes using FrontPage. The app makes it really easy to create them.  But all a theme consists of are custom images and a theme style sheet.  You can copy an existing theme, rename it and customize it from there without using FrontPage.

Sorry I forgot to mention that themes are for WSS sites only and do not apply to portal sites.  Please post any additional theme questions to the WSS newsgroup at sharepoint.windowsservices.  Thanks.

Hello Feches,

I think you have 2 or 3 choices:

1- Play with CSS styles located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\60\TEMPLATE\LAYOUS\[Your language Code]\STYLES\ Specially with the sps.css file. This reference is very useful :

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/odc_sp2003_ta/html/ODC_SPSCustomizingSharePointSites3.asp

2- Play with HTML as described in this excellent Daniel´s article:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/office/understanding/sharepoint/default.aspx?pull=/library/en-us/odc_sp2003_ta/html/Office_SharePointHowToApplyBrand.asp

3- Play with area templates as described here:

http://weblogs.asp.net/mnissen/articles/68629.aspx

Hope this helps a little.

Marcos
