Is there anyway to extract a document out of the database if the site that the document is in no longer works properly?

I’ve got a malfunctioning subsite, however, I can see in the database that the dcouments in the document libraries are still present.  I would like to extract the document libraries from the malfunctioning subsite.  Can it be done and, if so, how?

Thanks,

No, it says “File Not Found”.  I have another post titled “Restore subsite” that has more detail in it.  I can see in the database where the file should be.  STSADM shows the site exists but I can’t get to it.  I don’t really care for the site, just the documents in the document library.

Here is a thought: can i restore the database from tape from last week and restore it to another server?  That may just be crazy enough to work, right?
