I uploaded two TIFF files to SPS2003 running on SQL2K5, one has been OCRed using MODI, the other one has not.  Full text indexing only captures the one that has been OCRed.  I thought the Tiff iFilter is supposed to perform OCR and full text index on both of the Tiff files?  Checked the event viewer application log it seems to be fetching and OCR the pages for both files.

I have read some posts of people having this issue as well so if you have came across this issue and resolved it please can you share with us your experience?

Melvin,

You need some extra configuration steps to enable OCR-ing tiff during indexing in SharePoint.

Check http://support.microsoft.com/kb/837847 for more information.

Additionally, you may want to check BA-Insight’s Longitude product (http://www.ba-insight.net). They offer the ability to search/preview each page of a TIFF file individually (among other things).
