In MOSS CA I try to access the SSP settings and I get an access denied error. I am a domain admin and I have added myself as “Full Control” under Application Security.

The error page I get when I try to access the SSP indicates that it does actually see me as my own username.

How do I enable access to the SSP? I’m using the MOSS2007 RTM.

Domain Admins do not get automatic rights to all of SharePoint now. There is a delegated control option for the SSP itself. Logon as the person who does have Admin rights to the SSP and then go to the SSP admin page. Mouse over the name of the SSP and on the drop down arrow next to the name select ‘Edit Properties’. Then scroll all the way down to the bottom of the screen and add your account to the delegated user rights.
