Is it possible to customize the base template for My Site so everytime a new user’s “My Site” is created, it has few fixed Web Parts and links? If yes, then how?

Please help!!

Thanks,
Mike

Have you tried customizing the Administrator’s public MySite?  That worked in 2003 to propagate to the individual MySites.

Hello!

You can modify the onet.xml in the SPSPERS folder to include the web parts. Do an iisreset after you saved the changes. Ü

hi antoinks,

onet.xml changes will help in web parts only. i think i put my qyestion worngly. i want to know where is default.master for all my sites, so that whenever new :my sites” are crated , they have a a specific look and feel which i will update in my default.master.

where is this file for “My Sites” located?

I think there are two separate files you have to modify here. The default page of My Site and the My Profile page use the default.master file in the GLOBAL folder. The Edit Profile page which is a “_layouts” page uses the application.master file in the LAYOUTS folder.

end slug
