I have configured a Record Center site using the evaluation version of Sharepoint Server 2007 with the built in database, but have been unable to succesfully submit a document to it.  No matter what I do I get the error message ” <name> Records Center is not properly configured for this request”. Is there an error log somewhere that defines what is wrong with the configuration?

I have been through all the configuration documentation I can find, including the “Records Center Demo” video, but I still can not get the Records Center to function correctly.

There are a couple of areas that I’m not 100% positive about. First is the security settings, for both the submitting site/library and the Records Center libraries i.e. is there a special user ID that has to be added to the Records Center submission group?

The second is the actual URL for the Records Center Site Connection. My Record center URL is <a href="http:///Records”>http://<Servername>/Records. Is this the location URL I use? This is quite a bit different than the example shown.

If anyone has succesfully configured a Records Center site, please point me in the direction of some specific configuration instructions.

Thanks!

Hi Terry

Although your URL would be <a href="http:///Records”>http://<Servername>/Records but the URL which you put in Central Admin page is something like <a href="http:///Records/_vti_bin/officialfile.asmx”>http://<Servername>/Records/_vti_bin/officialfile.asmx

You need to put the address of the web service. The example address is given on central admin page. You can just copy it and replace the server part.
