Hi,

I did a couple export of sites and re-imports of sites (moving between web/db servers) and it seems like the version history of documents did not move.

Anyone have any idea what might have happened?

I did:  stsadm.exe -o export href=”
http://oldurl/site”http://oldurl/site -filename xxxx.backup    and stsadm.exe -o import href=”http://newurl/site”http://newurl/site -filename xxxx.backup

Alan

Oh, this is MOSS 2007 by the way.

The command has a versions switch which controls what is exported and imported. The default is only the latest major version. To grab everything, you would want to add -versions 4 to your command. For the full list of commands for the operation type stsadm -help export

The correct syntax is for the export to include versions and security:

stsadm -o export -url http://team/example/ -filename example -includeusersecurity -versions 4

The correct syntax is for the import to include versions and security:

stsadm -o import-url http://newteam/example/ -filename example -includeusersecurity -updateversions 1
