Hi all,

I am looking for some advice. We have SPS & WSS 2003, in people’s profile we have a photourl field which is centrally managed.

We use the area details web part on lots of pages to show who uses their page – it displays their photo, email address, etc. This is great, apart from sometime when you load the page it looks as if it doesn’t quite resize the photo in time so you see the top corner of somebodys head.

Has anyone any ideas of how to resolve this? Or does anyone else see this problem? Our photos are 3-70kb in size each.

Thanks in anticipation,

Jenny

Jenny,

We found a solution for Portal 2007. It was a need to resize all photos to one size – 94×100 – exactly the size for this problem WEB Part (Contact Details). Why 94×100 ? Because any photo of any size will be resized to this frame in a Contact Details Web Part.

And the original photos were very different ….. usually more than 94×100.

We made a decision that this only web part is to blame.

One workaround can work out. Today we’ve been trying to resolve this problem.

Conclusion: For some key persons it’s needed to resize their photos to 94×100 and reupload to Portal.
