Microsoft TechEd Europe 2014 RoundTable: Feedbackmoeglichkeit

June 5, 2014

Dieter

Microsoft TechEd 2014 North America: Live-Stream der Keynote

May 10, 2014

  • PRC01 | Hacking and Hardening Windows Infrastructure Workshop * Hasain Alshakarti, Paula Januszkiewicz, Marcus Murray

This seminar offers a unique opportunity to discuss and understand key security features in the Windows platform. Join three distinguished Enterprise Security MVPs and top TechEd speakers for a knowledge boost about the most current security issues and countermeasures in the Windows ecosystem.
An armorer of Chu boldly claims to make the best spears and shields. "My shields are so strong; they cannot be penetrated by any weapon," he said. "My spears are so sharp; they can pierce any shield," he further said. A man asks, "If your spear is thrown at your shield, what then?" State of Chu (841-233 b.c.).
By logic, both an impenetrable shield and an all-piercing spear can not exist at the same time, therefore we would love to invite you to our seminar about important details that play a crucial role in Windows Security. Bring your own laptop and enjoy live demos and examples with us!
During this seminar you will have chance to download and use our tools. We will provide you the complete set of whitepapers related to the subjects.

  • PRC02 | From Code to Release: DevOps for Developers * Mickey Goussett, Brian Randell

We know you know how to write code. Websites, services, and even mobile apps—you build them all. You hold your daily scrum, you burn down your work, and you check off those user stories. But are you checking off that most important feature as much as you’d like? Of course we’re referring to shipping.
In this seminar, Brian and Mickey show you how to make shipping a feature you check off every time you finish your work. We take a .NET web application and show you how to ship locally and to Windows Azure as often as you want.
In doing this, we begin by looking at the features available to you from Microsoft in the latest version of Team Foundation Server as well as the cloud-based Team Foundation Service. We look at the monitoring tools available both on premises and in the cloud and look at how the world of shipping software has matured, including what the industry calls devops.
We discuss what you need to do to support continuous deployment. Learn how to use the latest build features as well as look at various deployment tools like InRelease. See how better testing, using tools like Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager and Lab Management in Team Foundation Server, can make testing easier and more accurate. Learn how you can use Load Testing in conjunction with Windows Azure to know your app is ready.
Sometimes bad things can happen to the best programmers, so you’ll want to ensure that you’re prepared for issues in production. We look at features—like Application Performance Monitoring and the new Microsoft Monitoring Agent—that you can use with and without System Center Operations Manager. We also look at Global Service Monitor for your publically accessible websites as well as the new Application Analytics.
In the last section, we cover how you can customize your devops practice as we look at how PowerShell DSC, custom workflow tasks for build and deployment, and System Center Orchestrator can make your life better to where you can ship when you want to—every week or even every day, multiple times a day.

  • PRC03 | A Day of the Latest Microsoft ASP.NET and Windows Azure Developer Enhancements * Brady Gaster, Scott Hunter

In this seminar, ASP.NET and Windows Azure Group Manager Scott Hunter and Windows Azure SDK Product Manager Brady Gaster take you on a journey through the new features Microsoft has built into the ASP.NET Web Stack and Visual Studio 2013. Learn about the new features in the One ASP.NET Framework, Web API, SignalR, and the new OWIN framework for ASP.NET developers known as Katana. Also, learn about some of the new features added to the Windows Azure platform for web developers and how you can use these technologies to build cloud-scale web and mobile applications using the latest .NET technology. If you’re a web developer, you won’t want to miss this seminar. By the end of the day you’ll be ready to code and will have learned from some of the team members just how awesome the new One ASP.NET and Visual Studio 2013 combination will make your development experience.

  • PRC04 | Modernizing WPF Line-of-Business Applications * Robert Green

This seminar is focused on showing .NET client developers, particularly Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) developers, how to modernize their Line-of-Business applications. This involves: using a services architecture, moving to the cloud, SQL Azure, Azure web sites hosting cloud services, Active Directory authentication, service bus relay to provide and endpoint for accessing internal services, using third party controls to build modern looking UIs, building HTML, Windows 8 and Windows Phone apps that call the same Azure hosted services the base WPF application does, and integrating with Office 365. The goal of this seminar is to provide guidance to .NET client app developers on what to do today and to provide a foundation to move forward on our platform. This seminar is accompanied by slides, sample code and hands-on labs, which will all be available online after the seminar.

  • PRC05 | DevOps: An IT Professional’s Guide * David Tesar, Morgan Webb

Learn hands-on about a variety of integrated solutions from Microsoft which can help you embrace a virtuous cycle of Plan-Develop-Release-Operate and establish a high-trust relationship between your development and operations teams. The IT Pro plays an important role in enabling the promise of continuous delivery: that changes to applications by software developers can be more rapidly and efficiently deployed to end users. After the applications and infrastructure to support the apps are automatically deployed, the job is not over! Continuous monitoring should be integrated to continuously improve the applications for our users based on real data gathered. This sounds great, but the actual implementation details require that we evolve the way in which developers and IT professionals have historically worked together.
This seminar is primarily targeted at IT professionals, although our friends in the developer world are welcome to attend, too – we don’t bite!

  • PRC06 | Deploying and Managing Windows in the Real World *Ben Hunter, Michael Niehaus, Mikael Nystrom

What does it take for organizations to deploy and manage Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone? During this all-day seminar we walk through the entire process. We ensure that you understand what has changed in Windows 8.1, how you prepare for a Windows 8.1 migration, how to create your Windows 8.1 image, how to deploy Windows 8.1, and how to deploy Windows Store apps to the already-deployed computers using an enterprise app store. Regardless of whether you are new to Windows deployment and management, new to Windows 8.1, or an existing Windows 7 or Windows XP expert, there will be benefits for all attendees, from “how-to’s” to best practices to tips and tricks.

  • PRC07 | Installing Microsoft SharePoint 2013 Like a Pro * Todd Klindt, Shane Young

SharePoint 2013 has been out for a little over a year and in that time we’ve all learned a lot about how best to install and configure it. In this all-day seminar, Shane and Todd walk you through the things you should consider when planning your SharePoint 2013 farm. Then, they dig in and walk you through a full farm installation. They show you common pitfalls and explain how to work around them. They also make liberal use of PowerShell when building and configuring this farm. These PowerShell scripts and snippets will be available after the class.
Like any Todd and Shane session there are a lot of technical discussions and stories about how one or the other of them has screwed something up. When you leave this session you’ll be armed with all the knowledge you need to build a stunning SharePoint 2013 farm that you won’t be ashamed to take home and introduce to your parents."

  • PRC08 | Delivering On-Premises Self-Service Solutions with the Windows Azure Pack for Windows Server * Bradley Bartz, Ryan O’Hara, Marc Umeno

Microsoft’s Windows Azure Pack builds on the foundation of Windows Server 2012 R2 and Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 to deliver out-of-the-box self-service solutions for users leveraging high-density websites, virtual machines, storage and networking. This seminar focuses on deep understanding of the WAP technology, including building WaaS, DaaS, and IaaS solutions and integration automation for efficiency.
Topics of the day include: 1) WAP Overview: Learn what the Windows Azure Pack is and the components that are involved. This also includes clearly defining its value and the specific use cases that the solution addresses. 2) Deployment and Service Provisioning: See how each of the components are configured and integrated to deliver a complete solution. 3) Administering WAP: Once deployed, learn how to configure self-services systems, authentication options, building plans and subscriptions. 4) Extensibility and APIs: Learn how to manage services, extend across environments, and use the APIs.
The overall outcome of the day will be to complete a full deployment of a WAP environment with all features enabled.

  • PRC09 | Hybrid Identity in a World of Consumerization * John Craddock

Many of us have been cocooned in an Active Directory environment, where Single-Sign-On (SSO) and Kerberos authentication has become the norm. But now we need to give our users access to applications and services that are public cloud based, on devices we do not control. And of course the mirror, where partners and users are using social media identity and need access to our applications and services, be they running on-premises or in a cloud environment. It’s time to stretch the boundaries and encompass identity from multiple sources, a true identity mashup. What’s more, users expect SSO and to be able to use their own devices to access applications regardless of whether those devices are based on Windows, iOS, or Android. Come to this seminar and discover how ADFS and the Web Application proxy in Windows Server 2012 R2 combines with Active Directory, partner identity, Windows Azure Active Directory identity services, and create solutions that will take identity into the future. Add support for BYODs via Workplace Join, management via Windows InTune, additional security through authentication policies with multi-factor authentication and you are good to go. John Craddock, who has worked with AD and federated identity since the beginning, peels back the onion skin and shows you what’s really going on; be prepared to go deep. The pre-con is packed with demos and troubleshooting tips and tricks. Don’t miss out, sign-up now."

  • PRC10 | Using Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager in the Real World: Notes from the Field * Kent Agerlund, Johan Arwidmark

Join Johan Arwidmark and Kent Agerlund, two of the world’s foremost Configuration Manager 2012 R2 experts in a dazzling seminar on how to use Configuration Manager 2012 R2 in the real world. Learn about the changes in Configuration Manager 2012 R2, how to build a Configuration Manager 2012 R2 infrastructure, how to migrate from Configuration Manager 2007, and upgrade to Configuration Manager 2012 SP1. Learn how to deploy applications and updates, and how to deploy and manage Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 operating systems. You also learn how to integrate Configuration Manager 2012 R2 with Windows Intune, for mobile device management. Kent and Johan share their notes from the field, and their tips and tricks for making System Management using ConfigMgr 2012 R2 even better. If you are working with ConfigMgr 2012 R2, or thinking about moving to ConfigMgr 2012 R2, this is the seminar that you cannot afford to miss.

Mark Russinovich: The Case of the Unexplained

June 30, 2013

Mark Russinovich hat auf der TechEd North America in New Orleans wieder seinen legendären Vortrag “Case of the Unexplained: Windows Troubleshooting with Mark Russinovich” gehalten.
