Madison’s Trent breaks 45-year-old school record

Madison High School’s Alex Trent set a new school record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.35 seconds at the Waynesville Invitational Friday night, April 24.

His time broke a 45-year-old mark of 22.6 seconds set by Alan Daniel in 1964. The record was tied by Jim Cox in 1971 and tied again by Tony Cox in 1976.

It was the longest standing record at Madison. Trent also won the 400 dash in 49.78 seconds at the meet.
