Who Wants Touch on a Desktop Computer

I’ve been using touch-able portable computers for years but I could not fathom how anyone would want a touch interface for a desktop computer. Well actually, I already had two HP TouchSmart computers but I rarely used the touch user interface. And even though I updated them to Windows 8.1 at a comfortable viewing distance it was just a little too far away to want to be reaching up to touch the screen.

But in earlier this month I saw this 27″ all-in-one at the Microsoft Store.  Now who could resist touching this.

I’ve had it here for a couple of weeks. And it’s been a great experience.

So here’s some food for thought. With a native screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 I still want this beautiful 27″ screen up close and personal. And with that – it’s close enough to touch. And I do, And I enjoy the experience as much as I do on my Surface Pro 2.
