The Surface Pro 3 Docking Station is now available
and I’ve ordered one so that it will be here when I get my Surface Pro 3. I’ve already got a Docking Station for my Surface Pro 2 so I know what to expect:
- 4 x 3.0 ports
- 2 x 2.0 ports
- Gigabit Ethernet
- Mini Display port that supports two Display Port monitors
- Note: When docked the Surface Pro 3 Mini Display port (top right) is exposed and available so you even if you don’t have two Display Port capable monitors you can run two external monitors while your Surface Pro 3 is docked. One connected directly to the Surface Pro 3 and the second connected to the Docking Station.
This may seem like small thing but it means not having to pull the charger out of the carry case unless I’m actually away from my desk. And that’s just one less thing to remember to pack when I’m heading out.
- The left side is magnetic so it will hold the pen.
