Using OC on a government computer, I’m trying to communicate with a another military member at a differnt bas/organizaiton, my messages are received, but she cannot respond and gets a message that IM is not compatible. When I scroll over the globe next to her name, it says, “contact outside of your organization.”
I program it to open when I open my other programs for the day. It does not do this. Could you advise

I am having a problem with leaving an out of office message in Office Communicator. I can only type in a small box that does not allow me to review what I am typing. It pushes everything to the left and I only can see the last words that I am typing.
Is there a way to open it like a word document so I can view everything while I am typing?

I work for the federal government and recently upgraded to Windows 7. Since that time my office communicator messages do not display on the screen for a few seconds like an outlook e mail does.

Do you have the function to alert me when an associate is not longer working for the company and I have them listed under a group?
I am having trouble detecting when I get an IM. I have the sound but If I leave my desk and come back I do not always know I have an IM as the sound has already happened and sometimes the icon is not blinking. How do I get the popup window like the older version without leaving the window on top all the time?
Why would the communicator tool show me as logged in but now allow me to send an IM to anyone? When I double click on a name it opens an e-mail. Also when I right click on a name the option for send a message is grayed out?

If you want to be notified whenever the status of one of your contacts changes to Available or Offline, you can tag the contact.
I work with 2 screens. If communicator is running in other screen, it is hard to see that someone is trying to contact me. The communicator icon turns yellow in the tray. I would like a pop-up to display on the other screen. I could not find this option. Can you suggest?
I’d like to have the Office Communicator hide my IM’s under it so people who write me messages goes behind the icon in the task bar at the bottom of my screen. Is this possible….on my computer? I have seen it done on several of my coworkers computers.
My company recently upgraded to Windows 7, and now it is very difficult for me to see if I have received a communicator message. Is there any way to make the Office Communicator icon flash for longer than 1 minute? Or make an alert sound so I can know when I receive a message? Please advise. thanks

Need to develope a spell check for office communicator.
Office Communicator doesn’t allow to create new groups. The feature exists, it shows “New Group”, lets you type to rename, but as soon as I type a few characters, it flips keystroke focus away and I cannot finish naming the new group.
Would like to know if there is a way to save chat windows to a log to reference later. Don’t like when I close it by accident and completely loose the chat.

How do you set Communicator to flash or open up to show i have an instant message when i come back from being away from my desk. If i am away from my desk and get an instant message there is not a good way to alert me that i have a message waiting for a response when i come back to my desk.

How can we use a spell checker with Office Communicator?
Since upgrading to communicator 2007R2 I’ve missed easily 95% of communications due to the overly subtle notification – the small window in the lower right of my screen and the slowly pulsating icon in my tray. I work in a flex space environment so cranking the volume on my PC is not an option. A more prominent visual would be beneficial.

Hi, can i have communicator for my Android Phone? i am having MaSS360 on it. on my laptop i do have Communicator 2007 R2.
I was wondering if there is a way to color code(maybe even a different sound)on different chats. We get busy and it would be nice to see a different color for the more important messages to make sure we answer those faster instead of having to open it up all of the time to see who is sending a message. It can be time consuming and annoying at sometimes. It would really be nice.

When in Communicator, can I turn on the proof-read button? I like the ability to Spell Check and I don’t see to have the option anywhere.

Office Communicator shows OUTLOOK integration error. Therefore does not recognize contacts.
How do I fix it?
I cannot find a way to save a conversation using Communicator. All solutions that I have been able to find require selection of Save as Email; but for me that does not appear to be an option.

Before a system wide upgrade, when I got a communicator message, the message box would pop up on the screen. Now it stays in the tool bar and has a soft yellow glow. I am missing the start of conversations because of this. Is there a way to format the communicator to automatically open from the tool bar when I get a message?
My communicator is set to start up when I sign on my PC but it doesn’t, why?
Is there a way to add a Spell Check feature? I’m not seeing it in the options.

I work for the Treasury Dept and my new computer has the Windows 7 OS. The volume on OC notifications is so low I sometimes miss the audible notification. I cannot adjust the volume or even the type of notification sound even under “options”. How can I at least increase the volume of the notification sound?
I am having a problem signing into office Communitcator. I’ve never had to put in a “username and password” So I’m not aware of what they are. How do I get this information?
We recently upgraded to Windows 7 and now there is no alert when you receive an OC message. That feature is important i wish you would bring it back.
I’d like to view prior conversations like I can in other messenger applications but can’t find a setting or toggle to do that. Can you help me?
I think the colors are distracting. The words are fine but I don’t need half yellow and half reds to tell me that someone was available but is now busy. I would understand that when the notice next to their name says “away”. And this has screwed up my Outlook distribution lists, I have lists with 50+ people on them and it takes forever to load because of all the colors next to everyone’s name. Ugh, hate it.
How do I log conversations?
Every time I type in a time, like 3:pm, a stupid emoticon sticking it’s tongue out appears after I press the enter key. This is highly unprofessional.
Your code needs to be fixed to detect a character in front of the colon, and after the first character following it so that it can properly recognize the intent to display or not display an emotional symbol.
I do not have this problem with other messenger or text programs. Please fix this or I will uninstall and never use this program again.
Could you add spell checker to communicator chat which will ensure we all chat the correct English without mistakes.
In outlook it prompts us to correct spelling mistakes . So could it be implemented in Chat also?
It would be nice if the Office Communicator ICON in the Task Bar would rapidly or periodically flash for a short duration when a contact is attempting to send you an IM. I have missed so may IM’s because my eye does not catch the color change on the ICON when I am busy with work. I work with 2 computer screens and the IM notification is just not visual enough to see it. The sound is turned off on all of our computers by ADMIN (company policy)so we don’t get an audible sound. We need an option to make the visual more noticable. Thanks.
Our business recently updated from Communicator 2003, to Communicator 2007. Each group used to display the amount of contacts online v. the amount on contacts in the group. I thought this was a nice feature and would vote to bring it back. Example

How can we add more emoticons to the communicator?..Also some fetures for video conferences are not available.
I am not able to receive incoming calls. I do not receive and alert or anything letting me know a call is coming in. I can find a setting that lets me deal with this issue directly. I need direction on how to resolve the issue. I can call out, but just can’t receive.

The blinking alert feature for incoming OC messages is very helpful and would be nice if it is restored. My co-workers who have the new Windows 7 on their laptops no longer get the blinking alert and miss my OCs for hours at a time. I still have the old version with my Windows XP.
I was recently upgraded to ACE 3. After the upgrade, I started having a couple issues with the office communicator. The new messages do not blink at the bottom of the screen. It has caused me to miss important messages from other offices. I have tried many, many, many times to fix it and nothing has helped. Please help! Thanks.

i am having trouble seeing when someone sends a message. It does not flash. can you tell me how to make it flash?
Our office recently upgraded to Windows 7. Since that time my office communicator messages do not display on the screen for a few seconds as it did previously. The only indication that I have a message is a gentle ‘flicker’ of the icon in the bottom task bar. Instant Messaging isn’t instant if I don’t see it for two hours! Is there anything I can do to change the way the message appears on the desktop??
I need to know how to correct my Communicator ’07. My status is always set to Busy but when I have meetings, I would like for it to update to match my Outlook status. Currently, it still shows Busy when I am in a meeting. Please advise, thanks.
I just want to leave a suggestion. The suggestion is to make it possible to print these OC communications so that we can have a permanent record of them on Cis cases, etc. If this cannot be done, can someone please let me know why? Thanks.
