Why does SUS Downloads .NET and SharePoint updates Patches for all languages??
Actually, it’s known issue now. For .NET Framework and Share Point updates this is by “design” in the current version of SUS, and you cannot avoid it.
Therefore every localized versions of service pack for “Microsoft .NET Framework” needs to be offered users running an English OS. For instance, If you install the Japanese version of .Net Framework on an English OS, then the .Net Framework SP (which is considered a “critical” patch) is also applicable to your English OS. That’s why you get multiple language versions of the .Net Framework SP even though you only sync English content.
Because you can install any language version of .NET regardless of the OS language, SUS needs to cover this.
Lets see what Microsoft says;
