In this article, I will explain an Issue with Settings.txt(‘C:\inetpub\wwwroot\autoupdate­\dictionaries\settings.txt’) not saving the CabPoolPath location. SYMPTONS Changes applied to Settings.txt(‘C:\inetpub\wwwroot\autoupdate\dictionaries\settings.txt’) are not saved. CAUSE The real cause for this behavior is unknown. WORKAROUND In such case, try this approach; 1. Save the CabPoolPath, Your SUS Installation Drive:\sus\content\cabs 2. Repair SUS Installation. 3. Reboot Server. 4. Check CabPoolPath and see if it points correctly. 5. If yes, do a manual sync to confirm the changes. 6. If NO, POST your results on microsoft.public.softwareupdatesvcs and will try to assist you.
