I get word that MS is going to do a “Licensing” event.  Okay folks… all that complaining about licensing is obviously being heard.  I keep telling folks that Software Assurance is working for me. Even in David Coursey’s column he talks about Software Assurance as being a “good thing“.

Grab a glass of water, have an aspirin or two on hand just in case, but this event should be a MUST DO.  And I totally agree.  Knowledge is INDEED Power!

  1. Jeff Loucks says:

I was just thinking through the nightmare that MS has created with licensing in relation to SA.

**** Warning brain pain ahead. ****

Here is an example. If you bought SBS2000 with SA you get LCS for free.

Do you have to pay for SA on LCS or just SBS 2003. Better keep track of when you bought SA because that will entail different rights. If all you have to pay is SA on SBS2003 then SA for SBS2003 will have different rights based on whether or not you had SA with 2000. You think that is complicated wait until the next generation…

I feel a migraine coming on.
