Subject: svchost/wuauclt consumes lots of cpu time

Hello everybody,

At some, but interestingly not all installations of WSUS 2.0 SP1 on
different customer’s sites, user complain about svchost consuming 100 % cpu
time often and for long times. Using process explorer, we can see that it is
the instance of svchost running wuauclt. However, svchost itself consumes so
much cpu, while wuauclt seems to be relatively lightweight.

Is this a known problem, and is there a solution? Any tips would be greatly
appreciated.

Best Regards,
