You know you are old when….

At the Microsoft museum where Surface was on display, there was a line up of old computers and technology.  You know you are old when you’ve either personaly used all of that old technology equipment, or you saw your Mom and Dad using it.

At least stone tablets weren’t showcased in the museum.

I have a photo of my father programming on ENIAC. Can’t get much older than that. When I was at MIT in the mid-70’s, their $10 Million, high-end IBM mainframe had a whopping total of 3 MB ram. That’s MB, not GB. Our lab “minicomputer” was about the size of a small refrigerator, was loaded with paper tape, and had 16 KB of ram. Adding another 16KB cost about $10,000 if I remember right.

Well yeah but a computer bought in April this year will be in the museum next year.
