If you are patching today for the out of cycle patches, be aware that the Exchange 2007 update rollup 9 is also out on the update site today.

You Had Me At EHLO… : Update Rollup 9 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 has been released:

As Don reported, if you use Storagecraft you’ll want this patch as it fixes some issues with the backup.

  2. You know Microsoft Developers would create a service pack that would screw up a wet dream rather than make it better. Every single SBS 2008 server that I support where the client is in charge of updates now during reboot will not start the Exchange Information Store or the System Attendant automatically.

Why can’t MS actually test out their rollups before release? Why is it everytime they “fix” 1 thing they break 12 others? Why do these developers who cause more problems than what they fix still have a job??!?

This has been the 8th update which has broken something on SBS 2008 across the board. The first being the error with Sharepoint not being able to crawl, etc…etc… I’m sure everyone knows what I’m talking about. For an OS that is supposed to run directly out of the box and have no on-site IT support this fails miserably.

I guess we all need an SBS 2008 test server before we have a production rollout… Because you know… Every company who doesn’t have on-site IT has a full test lab to trial and error everything that Microsoft creates to make sure it works properly.
