On Eric Ligman’s blog today is news of a small business competency.
I’m going to be brutal and say that in the small biz space/var space I’m hearing that a Microsoft certifcation doesn’t mean much these days.  Maybe for larger firms but for smaller ones, it’s a much harder sell.  Showcasing that they are well versed in multiple platforms is where it’s at and being a vendor that can bring a well rounded option of solutions… not just a one trick pony.

    I totally agree Susan.
I mainly deal with 3-18 pax business in rural Queensland, Used to be MS Server, Office and browser issues. Now they want Microsoft, Android, iStuff, Google, MYOB and “fix my WiFi printer”. Lately it’s been “My New SmartPhone” verses Sharepoint verses Android integration. I’m trying to understand Server 2008, 2011, 3 versions of Android, iOS3, 4, 5 and bloody Mango.
Can I get a bit confused, please?
