How to Enable or Disable Default Browser Setting in Microsoft Edge

By default, each time you open Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Edge will check if its the default browser and will prompt a Would you like to set Microsoft Edge as your default browser notification with a Set as default button if not.

You can use the DefaultBrowserSettingEnabled policy to enable or disable whether Microsoft Edge always checks whether it’s the default browser when opened, and enables or disables the Make default button (user controls) in Microsoft Edge settings.

• If you this policy to True (enable), Microsoft Edge always checks whether it’s the default browser on startup and will automatically set itself as the default web browser.
• If you set this policy to False (disable), Microsoft Edge is stopped from ever checking if it’s the default and turns user controls off for this option.
• If you don’t set this policy, Microsoft Edge lets users control whether it’s the default and, if not, whether user notifications should appear.
