NMAP 7.80 is a comprehensive network vulnerability testing suite & this brand new release offers over 80 new improvements.  The timing of release makes it available also as a tool for the DEFCON 2019 conference.

A new version of nmap, 7.80, was released for Defcon.  It comes with a new Npcap driver (Windows) and new NSE scripts.  The main reason for the delay is we’ve spent the last few years building our own Npcap raw packet capturing/sending driver, starting with Winpcap as the base.  It uses modern APIs and more details on Npcap can be found  at https://npcap.org.   It includes 80+ cross-platform improvements you can read about below, including 11 new NSE scripts, a bunch of new libraries, bug fixes and performance improvements.

NMAP 7.80 source code and binary packages for Linux, Windows, and Mac are available for free download from the usual spot: https://nmap.org/download.html
