Windows 7 Editions Announced

The edition line-up for Windows 7 seems to be more streamlined then the list provided for Vista. To summarize, there are now 2 main editions for home users: Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows 7 Ultimate. There are also 2 editions for businesses which are Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Enterprise (Enterprise will be for customers that have Software Assurance and is similar to Ultimate). Vulnerability in Windows Server service Fixed with Update

Last week, Microsoft released a version of the Malicious Software Removal tool (MSRT) that can help remove variants of Win32/Conficker and other resources. Win32/Conficker.B exploits a vulnerability in the Windows Server service (SVCHOST.EXE) for Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, and Windows 2008. Technology Highlights of 2008

What fitting way to end 2008 than a list of my own version of technology-related highlights of 2008. Dell’s Acquisition of Equallogic – Ok. So technically this happened in November of 2007. But the acquisition wasn’t completed until early this year. After review of the devices, they are definitely a cost-effective NAS solution.
