2005-05-22 “Bad Moon Rising”

Have you heard the difference between a pessimist and an optimist?

The pessimist says: Good God, it’s morning!

The optimist says: Good morning, God!

SBS 2003 Service Pack 1 became official this past week. And we will have our optimists and our pessimists with this release. In spite of all the internal Microsoft testing, and beta testers who volunteered their time to test and identify bugs and issues, this will be a service pack that you won’t want to just jump into. Every situation will be a little different. I had virtually no problems installing it on my test server at home. But I will wait a bit before installing it at my customer sites.

So what about the song of the week? Well, I’m going back to a song written and performed by CCR — Creedence Clearwater Revival — that talks about the bad omens and signs in the sky – like a pessimist would. But I challenge you to look at life like an optimist!

P.S. These parodies should always be taken in jest. Just remember — if you can’t laugh at yourself, someone else will!

Bad Moon Rising

aka Service Pack A-Comin’

I see service packs a-comin’
I see trouble on the way.
I see workin’ late this evenin’
I see bad times today

Don’t re-boot tonight
Well it’s bound to not go right
There’s a hot fix on the rise.

I hear MVP’s a-talkin
I know the answer’s coming soon.
I hear Microsoft a-callin’
I hear the voice of Yoda’s tune:

Don’t re-load tonight
Well it’s bound to take all night
There’s a hot fix on the rise.
