than to use ANYTHING from Windows Store. I cut my teeth on the Windows 8 version and quickly discovered that the best way to peace was never to go there.
I was hoping that Windows 10 may have gotten over some of the problems at least, BUT IT HASN’T..
Surprize #1.. been like this for days
Surprize #2.. Oops, no fix today, Mum..
Windows Update has been looking for updates for over half an hour now, having already told me that there are some but I can’t have them.. 🙂
I have looked everywhere for a fix that DOESN”T involve a full reset, but this can’t continue forever, so I may do a complete clean install after backing up Office 2010 stuff.
I wonder if I will be able to get TH2 when it appears?
Anyway, as of today, the Windows Store is a ‘absolutely no-go’ area..
I found these commands..
net stop wuauserv
ren SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
net start wuauserv
The first two worked, the third didn’t, said it was in use elsewhere, making the fourth command superfluous to requirements.
The SystemDistribution folder wouldn’t let me rename or delete, so I went into the ‘downloads’ section of the folder and removed the two rogue files, the ones that looked like they hadn’t completed.
Hey Presto, Windows Store update is working again, and all of the incomplete entries have now completed and cleared through the system. By the way, Microsoft Jigsaw requires an X-Box sign in. Bye bye, Microsoft Jigsaw. Happy uninstalling.. 🙂
