I saw a review of a utility called ‘PatchMyPC’ and the reviewer seemed to think that it was ok to use based upon the fact that many users don’t regularly patch programs because they are unaware that patches are available and couldn’t find them anyway..

How it worked out..

So I decided to give it a try.It is a portable utility, doesn’t install into the system that I can see and is probably best saved to a flash drive .

Running it presents the user with a neat little window and an advisory that it is running a scan, and it does exactly what it says on the box..

When it updates, it runs through all of the selected items and does the default ‘EXPRESS’ install which may include ‘extra’ features which you did your best to avoid when you first installed the original programs/utility.

This is NOT its best feature by any means, but for software like Libre Office for instance, it does very well.

So there you have it. A useful utility with some reservations. The extras will need to be uninstalled at your earliest convenience if you want to avoid problems in the future. You can uncheck any selected item that you know will prove to be ‘difficult’.
