Creating your own PowerShell functions and scripts is very satisfying but sometimes you just need the functionality. One good source is www.codeplex.com  Its Microsoft’s Open Source Project Community.

Go to the home page and put PowerShell into the search – I just got 330 projects back!

They include:

  • PowerShell Community Extensions
  • PowerShell Management Library for Hyper-V
  • SQL Server PowerShell Extensions
  • Lots of SharePoint scripts and modules
  • PowerShell Admin Modules (PAM)
  • Server core configurator
  • PowerTools for OpenXML
  • PowerShell Workflow
  • PowerTab – extends the PowerShell tab completion

And lots, lots more.

Check it out – you just might find something to save you some time. Its also worth downloading the code to see how other people put their PowerShell modules together.
