When you use the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 "Wake on LAN" feature, Configuration Manager cannot wake up more than 30 clients at a time. For each failed try to send a wake-up packet, the following error is logged in the Wolmgr.log file:
Failed to add data record to message.
This problem occurs because of how Configuration Manager builds the list of target clients to which it will send wake-up packets. This problem does not occur on systems that are running Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 1.
