Restore your Zune marketplace purchases

This is a neat feature that I just noticed in the Zune application.  The Zune app keeps a record of all of the purchases you have made in Marketplace, and allows you to restore all of your purchased items to your computer.  This is a great feature for when you switch computers for one reason or another.

To access it…

In the Zune app, click 1. Social, and then 2. Account (click the image to view the click points):

Next, click 3. Purchases:

The Zune software will retrieve your purchase history for you.  Then, you can click to restore single songs, whole albums, or just 4. Restore All (everything).

More Scifi channel shows come to Zune marketplace

More television series are showing up on Zune marketplace.  The video portion of the Zune marketplace was released with ho-hum content, but it seems new things are being added all the time.  This may, indeed, turn out to be worthwhile someday.

Today, I found that seasons 2, 3, and 4 of one of my favorite TV shows, Ghost Hunters from the Scifi channel have hit the marketplace.

In addition, the new International version of Ghost Hunters is available.  There’s only 1 season so far for this series.

And, also seasons 1 and 2 of Destination Truth are there now, too.

Still.  Its hard to shell out money for something I can record on my Windows Media Center computer and then transfer to my Zune for free.

Some other new marketplace shows worth mentioning…

Who Wants to Be a Superhero?

Zune Social releases ZuneLinks

Now you can use the Zune Social site to generate links that take people directly to a specific song, artist, album, playlist, video, podcast, etc.  Pretty neat.

Use this page:

Here’s an example of a cool new album I’m listening to by Josh Wilson.

AutoPlaylist in Zune is cool…

I just noticed this.  Is this a benefit of the recent software upgrade?  But, the Zune now has an Autoplaylist feature.

Click “New Autoplaylist” brings up the following screen…
