How to downgrade to SQL 2000 with SBS 2003 R2 Premium Edition

Body: Microsoft have finally after much community pressure documented the official downgrade path for those customers who have purchased SBS 2003 R2 Premium Edition and still need to run SQL 2000 due to application vendor compatibility issues. This is great news for us SBSers as it’s been a thorn in the side of many line of business applications that still (even 2 years after SQL 2005 has been released) do not support SQL 2005. Body: Recently Microsoft released a new service that will allow you to get Hotfixes via email instead of waiting in a phone queue to talk to a real person. That’s great and it will save us techos many a wasted hour on the queues and means we can get more done in less time. What – no blogging for today?

Body: Ok – I confess that I was not at work today. Instead I took the day off and did something much more important for my teenage daughter – I went to school with her. She invited me to come to a special festival day today and help out. I cooked a BBQ (along with 3 other dads) for 1100 teenage girls. They got the best burgers we could cook.
