While I was in Seattle, I got a chance to spend some time at Fry’s Electronics, the store, not the web site. If you ever get a chance to go, don’t pass it up, and plan on spending a lot of time there. They even have a cafe in the center of the store in case you need to rest and refresh. I have been thinking about buying a MacBook Pro, and normally, when you go to a store like Circuit City or Best Buy, you’re lucky if they have more than one for you to check out. Fry’s had 6 or 7 of them, as well as the Mac Mini and a number of Mac Desktops. And the sales staff is really knowledgeable about them and made some great recommendations. I didn’t buy one though – I had a laptop with me on the trip and really didn’t want to lug two of them home.

I did end up buying a Mio C310x Portable GPS on Patrick’s recommendation. He has one (got it at Fry’s on his last trip to the U.S.) and I got a chance to use while we were driving around on Sunday. I had it shipped home with a few other things that wouldn’t fit in my suitcase and just opened the box today. I’m going to set it up and then go out for a drive and see how goes.

One other thing, Fry’s is actually at 800 Garden Ave N in Renton, WA. And another thing – they don’t take American Express, as a fellow MVP found out the hard way.
