ActiveSync error code 0x86000107 with Windows Mobile 6.1

If you have recently upgraded your Windows Mobile 6 device to Windows Mobile 6.1 (I did) and are now getting error code 0x86000107 when you try and sync to 2 PCs (I am), the Product Development Team at Microsoft wants your logs to research the problem. Please go to this thread in the Active Sync forum at WindowsMobile Connection for instructions on how to capture and submit your logs.

Yes, me too – no problems before but now can not use – badly affecting my ability to work and likely to get me moving to an iPhone or Blackberry very soon if a solution is not forthcoming.

I had this problem. Open Active Sync on your phone and see where the phone is stopping. That is where the error would be. Mine was with the email. I just told Windows Mobile Device Center, since i am running Vista, to not sync my mail. It deleted the mail on the phone. Then I told it to sync the mail again. And now it works like it should. I think my problem was there were too many emails backed up that needed to be synced and it caused an overflow.

That’s my solution. I hope that helps someone else.

Here’s what I discovered after considering the above comments. If the data is different on two computers, then you get this error. Therefore, you have to decide which set of data you want to backup. For example, I also use dashwire to backup my contacts. That is where I was getting the activesync error, was in my contacts. I deleted the contacts backup on activesync and use dashwire solely and that solved the problem.
