"I’m not going to switch [operating systems] because I don’t want to compromise the way I live my life just to switch to a phone… "

Sounds like something I would say, doesn’t it? Ever since I had to give up my Windows Mobile 6.1 phone, I’ve been waiting for Microsoft to add “sync with desktop Outlook” back to their list of Windows Phone apps. So have a lot of other people. But I can’t take credit for the quote – it was Nokia vice president Bryan Biniak. The full quote is: “People rely on applications for their day-to-day life and if you don’t have something which I use in my day-to-day life I’m not going to switch [operating systems] because I don’t want to compromise the way I live my life just to switch to a phone… You can’t sell a phone without the apps, you just can’t.”. He said it in an interview with the International Business Times – Nokia: Microsoft Must Evolve to Make Windows Phone a Success.

I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Just to be clear, as much as I like my Android phone, I would switch to Windows Phone 8 in a heartbeat if it could sync via USB to my desktop Outlook.
