HP driver infected with a virus – again!!

Yep, you heard right; a device driver available for download from Hewlett Packard was infected with the Funlove virus:

What I want to know is… why did it take a third party company to spot the virus in the device driver?  Doesn’t HP have their own antispyware and antivirus scanners? Don’t they regularly check their distributables for infection?


Once we can understand and forgive… but twice?  After the first time this happened HP should have put protocols into place to ensure it didn’t happen again.

Yay. I’ve got all of my graphics back somewhere in a 60+ meg zip file.  Now all I have to do is find them, re-sort them, re-upload them, and go through all my blog posts and re-map the img src links <sigh>  That should only take me… oh… a week or so.. [;)]
